Everyone told me things would get crazier as the kids got older. And naively, I thought I'd have 'more' time with Sierra in school. HA! I think that when I registered her for kindergarten, the day went from 24 hrs. to a mere 18.
Ok, time to play catch up.... here goes. This might be a long one folks.
Somewhere between the last post and now, Bary's grandmother passed away. As sad as we were to have her leave us, we were happy to be able to see Grandma and Grandpa.
They made a quick trip out for the funeral, but thankfully, we were able to sneak in some quality grandparent time. The kids had a blast with their aunt and uncles that came too. It was great to see everyone.
Easter was the next big thing (I know this only because it's the next thing on my camera)
The kids had a blast coloring eggs and hunting for them. We had a gorgeous day and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Conference.
Going for a tough one.
One of the 'masterpieces'
The day after Easter kicked off officially Spring Break! The weather was fantastic and we headed over to Monticello and met up with the Hansen's, some friends from California. It was fun to see them and tour Thomas Jefferson's home and grounds. They had a kids area with fun hands on activities and each of the kids were able to try their hand at writing with a quill. It really is harder than it looks, but they had fun trying.
The blossoms were amazing.
Josh challenged Bary to a game of old fashioned checkers. It looked pretty fierce.
Sadly, I am very lame at taking pictures. I need to get some from this trip from Stan. The kids were VERY happy to see Allyson, their old babysitter. I think they almost had her convinced to come home with us just so she could babysit one more time.
Great Grandpa stopped in for a quick visit on his way out to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Utah and he and Katelyn had a quick game of checkers. It was pretty cute to see them banter back and forth. What a blessing it's been for the kids and us to get to know him better.
I found this in the garage one night as I went out to grab something. Scared the bejeezes out of me! I was barefoot and he was right in my path. Oh, and it's true to life. He really was that big. Creepiest bug. Yuck!
Alright, next post PINEWOOD DERBY. This one is already too long!
For the record, there are 16 days of seminary left and 26 school days left to summer! I think I'm ready. Maybe.
Oh, and I came across this today. HELLO! Making that this weekend. Maybe I'll guinea pig my seminary class again. Maybe. Or I'll risk it myself. :D
