About a week later, the sprouts made an appearance above soil and all the excitement of the planting resurfaced and all talk revolved around the tomato seedlings.
Another week goes by and the 2 seedlings are about 2 inches tall. One morning I came into the kitchen and noticed that one of the seedlings was looking really sad. Droopy and wilted. Marsh came in and explained that he had been worried about how close the seedlings were to each other and so he 'plucked one up and replanted it'. Uh oh... not good. Two days went by and it was pretty evident that the plant was dead. That takes us to the third day when I went into the kitchen and saw this:
I couldn't believe my eyes! When Marshall came down, I pointed out the seedling and how good it looked. He smiled a big grin and said, "I said a prayer the night before for the plant that it would be ok, and Heavenly Father answered my prayer!" Every morning when I see that little seedling I can't help but feel grateful. Thank goodness for small miracles!
