Month in Review

Things have been so busy lately I can hardly believe it.. and I just heard it's October! When did that happen?!?!
WARNING: tons of pictures.. but they say a picture is worth a thousand words and I'm sure put more eloquently than I could.. so there you go!

In the past few weeks we participated in the cub scout card board boat regatta. It was a blast and Josh sunk fairly quickly. I don't think he cared though. He was happy to swim.

Sierra learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. We employed my Dad's technique and she learned in record time. We took our smallest bike (a 12 inch) and took the pedals off. She pushed the bike around like a scooter and really got the balance thing down. Then we put them back on and voila! She had it. It was awesome.

We had our ward campout at the beach. As usual, it was a great time!

Marshall turned 8 and we had a fun birthday party

Sierra found a frog and has made it her own. We love to watch it eat bugs and such. We put a VERY long legged daddy long leg in there last night and the kids got to see Hoppy eat it. Josh said the legs were sticking out of his mouth.. Sad (kindof) that I missed that!

Marshall having turned 8 started cub scouts.. I think that was better than any gift he got on his birthday!

My parents came into town and we headed south and took a ferry from Jamestown to Surry to see some historical sights.

Not sure how many know this, but Sierra is a budding hairstylist. My dad and Josh were privileged to have her do their do... Loving the combover!

Bary and my dad built a work bench out in the garage. Thanks Dad!

Marshall was baptized. It was an incredible day and we were happy to have my brothers and my parents there, but we did miss the family that couldn't make it.

And most recently, we went up to Carter Mountain with some friends and picked apples. It was a gorgeous day and we had such a great time. Thanks Jones'! The kids can't wait to go again. I'm excited to make some applesauce.

I guess it's time to gear up for Halloween and all things Fall. Any costume suggestions? :)
