A friend of ours asked if we'd be interested in cutting a tree from their property for our Christmas tree this year. What the heck.. Sure! I went and looked at it and thought it'd be pretty cool. Bary went over and measured the trunk to make sure our tree stand would accommodate the tree and it looked like all would be well. He took the kids and went to cut it down on Saturday. Problem: 38 degrees and rain. Kids were undeterred. I can't believe they got it home on top of our little Honda! Turns out the tree is easily 15-16 feet high!! (thank goodness for our 18 foot ceilings)
Making sure the tarp is laid just so and getting ready to cut.

Timber! Josh got to make the final cuts.

(They're not one bit excited about this, are they?

Tree up and ready to decorate. Hmmm.. do we have enough lights? Ornaments?

Congrats to Katelyn! That is so awesome. I like your tree too. We love cutting our own but haven't been able to for the last 2 years due to going artificial with the allergy sufferer here. So happy your kids were able to experience it!
Cool tree - next year feel free to have the giant one in our yard. Getting it there might be a small issue.
