Derby Day!

The pinewood derby was this last week. Josh and Bary have spent the last few weeks working out the details and sanding and whatnot on the car. This is Josh's last race, and he had some ideas in mind for how he wanted it to go. Unfortunately, he and Bary used a not so reliable scale when adding weights and his car was way over on weight. How to drop 2 oz-and fast! They drilled holes and re-weighed. No luck. Still too heavy. More holes.. still too heavy. Finally drilled out some of the weights and were able to make it just right. Excitement was high when we got to the church Wed. night. I think there were 13 cubs and all had their eye on the prize. The first couple of races were fairly close but Josh was winning or coming in second. He ended up taking the 2nd place ribbon home and has been on cloud nine. Woo hoo!
