Summer Vacation

First off, Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there!

Second- Today marks the end of the first week of summer vacation as well as the start of the second week of summer vacation. I told Bary that I'm excited for this week as last week hardly felt like summer vacation- we had so much going on! A brief rundown- Marshall and Sierra started swimming lessons on Monday. They are loving it and Sierra has discovered how much fun the water is when you're more independent in it. Monday also kicked off a week long Cub Scout Twilight Camp. Josh and Bary both attended each day and had a lot of fun. Tuesday took us to Katelyn and the start of Girls Camp. She was really excited to go, and I couldn't believe she was old enough (how does that happen?). Wednesday-Friday are kind of a blur of swim lessons and getting Josh and Bary ready and other day to day stuff. Friday night the bishop's son spent the night so he and his wife could go up to girls camp. Saturday we got up and did an assortment of Saturday things and Sierra sat on pins and needles anxiously awaiting the afternoon and Katelyn's arrival home. She got home just before noon, exhausted, dirty, and elated. All reports say she had an awesome time.
Last night Bary and I decided to go to Sears and look at tool chests. There was an amazing sale and decided to get it. If you bought one particular chest, you got an add on 3 drawer chest free ($139 value). We took the tags up to the register and this is where it got funny to me. They had the tags where you pull it and take the little paper to the register. Well, we assumed yes tags=yes product. The gentleman informed us he needed to check and make sure it was in stock. We waited. (time: about 7:45pm) He came back and said only the bottom 5 drawer chest was in stock and he'd have to order the other 2. Weird since there were like 10 tags. No problem. He goes to ring us up and the system won't let him give us the free chest unless it's rung together but he couldn't ring it together because he had to order 2 pieces from the warehouse. Dilemma. He tried several different things and then re-tried them. He called a manager and ended up so confused he didn't know which way was up (time: 8:40pm) Manager finally comes over and we try and explain what the situation is. Man working cash register throws hands up in frustration (time: 8:50-store closes at 9) Manager voids out charge and has employee order the chests not in stock and sends us around back to pick up the one that is in stock. We get in there at 8:55. They have a system where you scan your reciept and it notifies the people in the backroom to bring it to you. We scan our receipt and it says there is nothing for us. WHAT?! Bary tries it again. Same. OK, seriously!? A guy comes out to help us and scans the receipt. Same.. Ok, in the hour it took our salesman to ring us up, did the chest get sold? He disappears and then reappears a few min. later and has said chest. Thank Goodness! We sign for it and he wheels it to the car. Hmmmmm. we brought the Saturn. Bary says it will fit. yeah... nope. Oh well. We have to go back on Monday to get the other pieces so we sent that one back in and said we'd pick it up with the other pieces. The Sears guy said that wouldn't be a problem... hopefully!

That sounds like recent visit to Sears for me as well! Have to say not quite as bad but mine required two visits downstairs to the cash register and two visits upstairs to the pick up area then back again on Monday because.....what I got didn't work!! Frustrating yes! Miss you guys and happy summer!
